Lead teachers to construct format for video interviews with students
It was decided that the discussion above may assist with this. Teachers will continue to gather evidence in a variety of ways e.g. dairy flat have instituted learning logs for teachers around the use of Audacity for oral and written language

If not continuously logged on, can be lost.
Parental access to blogs with username and password can be an issue. If generic, then how do we track who left a comment?

Year 5/6 reading books to Audacity. High number of ESOL children. They repeat speech to improve language skills

It is an opportunity to talk about thir life at school and the interaction with Douglas continues motivation. Its not about the blog. relates to the NZC and KCs Craig's class wiki
Has all homework. Voicethread once a fortnight. this term science focus. puts up a photo embedded onto the wiki. Children respond.

We saw year 2 children in the suite using Encarta fo research on mammals. The language is simple and there are videos and some text is read aloud.

Use pliable materials or lego very popular (Youtube legomation examples e.g. 5 minute Indiana Jones), people moving around city-scapes(appearance of gliding).
Gives students an insight into making film and construction of narrative.
Take at 24 frames per second
Saved as jpegs, frames can be edited in Photoshop, paint.net etc.
Douglas demonstrated it
Connect through usb, or firewire. Don't neeed disc.
A tripod is almost essential and an undisturbed space (even light needs to remain constant), or can be set up in a box.
Assign 1 person per character.
Set FPS (frames per second) at 24
Create a layer and fill in frames
Has onionskinning to overlay shot on the last one.
Open video capture window.
Click 'capture' (click on overwrite if it appears)
Preview the movie
Exports as an avi and compress once in the video-editing programme.
Import to moviemaker to add audio or as part of a narrative
Tips:
Take 10 frames of the first shot and at the end to ensure footage not lost through transitions
plasticine model with plastic eyes. Take 3 then eyes off 3 more. looks as if it is blinking
